Passengers with special travel needs

If you plan to travel with Bees Airlineы and have special conditions, equipment requirements, or need assistance, please inform us at least 72 hours before your scheduled departure. This advance notice allows us to make the necessary arrangements to ensure your journey is comfortable and safe.

However, in some cases, we may have to decline transporting passengers with special needs if the aircraft's design or cargo hold doors make boarding or transportation physically impossible, or if doing so would violate flight safety regulations.

Passengers with Reduced Mobility

We are committed to providing a comfortable flying experience for passengers with reduced mobility or those requiring special attention due to disabilities or age-related needs. To help us assist you effectively, kindly provide us with all relevant information at least 72 hours before your travel.

Some travelers may be asked to present a permission certificate from their physician, dated within 7 days of departure, confirming the passenger's fitness for air travel to their destination. This certificate should also include details about the passenger's health condition and any additional requirements during the flight, affirming their medical suitability for air travel.

Medical Information Form (MEDIF)

To assess the acceptability of a passenger's medical condition and determine specific transportation conditions, we may require a Medical Information Form (MEDIF). Passengers falling into the following categories must provide MEDIF:

  • Expecting mothers beyond 7 month (28 weeks) of pregnancy.

  • Individuals requiring supplemental oxygen or other medical supplies during the flight.

  • Passengers using or under the influence of any narcotic drug.

  • Travelers whose appearance or behavior may cause stress to other passengers.

Please submit your MEDIF at least 72 hours before departure to allow us to arrange for any necessary equipment, supplies, or assistance. We will accept a completed MEDIF if it outlines medical requirements and air travel restrictions that can be reasonably accommodated.

Please note that medical clearance applies to stable medical conditions only. If a passenger's health deteriorates significantly between receiving medical clearance and the scheduled departure, a new clearance must be requested. We do not accept medical clearance requests over the phone.

Passengers Exempt from Medical Clearance:

  • Passengers with visual or hearing impairments.

  • Passengers using wheelchairs or crutches.

  • Passengers needing assistance to move through the airport.

  • Passengers with chronic and stable medical conditions or disabilities, including congenital or long-term conditions, who possess a Frequent Traveler's Medical Card (FREMEC) issued by any IATA member airline.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchair users are strongly encouraged to inform us of their travel plans as early as possible, but no later than 48 hours before their journey.

Wheelchairs will be transported in the aircraft hold as checked baggage only.

Manual wheelchairs have no specific limitations.

Wheelchairs with dry cell or gel cell batteries must adhere to the following requirements:

  • The battery must be disconnected.

  • Battery terminals must be insulated to prevent short circuits.

  • The battery must be securely attached to the wheelchair.

  • The wheelchair should always be in an upright position.

If transporting the wheelchair upright is not possible, disconnect the battery and pack it in a specialized container with absorbent material to prevent electrolyte spillage. The wheelchair can then be checked as baggage without further restrictions.

Supplemental Oxygen

Passengers requiring supplemental oxygen for therapeutic purposes during the flight should notify the airline at least 48 hours before their travel and meet these conditions:

  • Obtain medical clearance.

  • Provide the airline with either MEDIF or FREMEC, confirming the need for in-flight oxygen.

  • Obtain preapproval from the airline for transporting oxygen equipment.

  • Provide information about the type, weight, and size of the oxygen equipment.

  • Ensure the oxygen equipment is accompanied by safety instructions or a similar document.

Please note that!

Bees Airlines does not provide supplemental medical oxygen on board.

Liquid oxygen systems are prohibited on aircraft.

Oxygen bags are not accepted for carriage.

Oxygen Cylinder Requirements:

  • Portable oxygen cylinders with a maximum weight of 5 kg containing oxygen gas or oxygen-enriched air are accepted for carriage.

  • The oxygen cylinder, including its valves and regulators, must be in serviceable and undamaged condition to prevent potential leaks.

Portable Oxygen Concentrator Requirements:

  • The oxygen concentrator must be approved for use on aircraft.

  • The oxygen concentrator must possess the required certification, which should be provided to the airline during booking or ticketing.

  • Sufficient batteries must be carried to power the portable oxygen concentrator throughout the entire journey, including transfers and potential delays. Passengers can bring two types of batteries with lithium content: batteries under 8g of lithium content have no quantity restrictions, while batteries with 8g to 25g of lithium content are limited to two items, each packaged separately to prevent short circuits.

If necessary, passengers can transport their empty oxygen tank as checked baggage.

Pregnant Women and New Mothers

Expecting mothers, starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, must provide a medical certificate confirming their pregnancy stage and fitness for air travel.

The certificate should include:

  • The number of weeks of pregnancy.

  • The type of pregnancy (single or multiple).

  • Confirmation of a complication-free pregnancy.

  • Assurance from the obstetrician that air travel is safe for the pregnant woman.

For international flights, the certificate must be in English.

Please note that:

  • Pregnant women are not allowed to travel after 35 weeks of pregnancy, even with a medical certificate.

  • Mothers carrying multiples should not travel after 32 weeks of pregnancy.

  • Travel within the first 7 days after childbirth is not permitted.

Pregnant women traveling with another child (infant) should ensure that an adult passenger accompanies the child in accordance with flight safety rules.

Your comfort and safety are our top priorities at Bees Airlines, and we are here to assist travelers with special needs in every way possible.
